Radio Sur Sangam is a 24×7 Internet radio station built for one kind of voice: the non-professional singer. Never professionals, never playback singers. The people on air are teachers, engineers, homemakers, retirees and students who sing because they cannot not sing — and who, until now, had nowhere to be heard.
There is no gatekeeper and no fee. Anyone may send a recording to our AI Test Lab, which scores it on broadcast quality — Sur, Laya and presentation. Pass, and your song joins the daily schedule alongside everyone else's. That is the whole of the entry process.
The schedule is anchored to India and runs around the clock, so a listener in Toronto or Dubai hears the same station as a listener in Chandigarh:
| 5:00 am | Pratah Shakti — devotional, to open the day |
| 8:00 am | Subah Sargam — morning melody |
| 10:00 am | Mood of the Day — a different mood each weekday |
| 11:00 am | Dopahar Dilkashi |
| 2:00 pm | Mehfil-e-Matinee |
| 5:00 pm | Shaam Rang — the evening colour |
| 9:00 pm | Raat Ka Raag |
| 11:00 pm | Night Naughties |
| 1:01 am | Neend Nirvana — for the sleepless |
Alongside the daily spine: Hanuman Chalisa every Tuesday and Saturday at 7:30 am and 7:30 pm, and AawaaZ, our weekly bilingual bulletin for elders, every Sunday at 7 am and 7 pm.
The full library of songs by our singers, to play any time rather than waiting for them to come round on air.
Pick a feeling — peaceful, romantic, devotional, festive — and listen to a set curated for it.
Navras, our nine-rasa singing contest. Free to enter, judged on the singing.
Video performances, and our podcast — also on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
The site is a progressive web app: it installs to a phone home screen from the browser, with no app store in between. It remembers your favourites on your own device, and it is designed to stay usable on a slow connection, because a good voice should not need good broadband to reach you.
